Wow! Did we have a great time out at David's place last Saturday for our June event!!
We had tables of food, gallons of honey, made lots of new friends and had a basic good old time. We extracted eight supers of honey from OBBA bees and ended up with 25 gallons of delicious wildflower honey! Everyone chipped in and helped extract, carry buckets of honey, and bottle and label the honey. David graciously allowed us to place our honey in his retail store and agreed to sell it for us at $8.00 a pound!
Thanks David, you are the BOMB!
We sold lots of pounds to members and first time attendees, we sold T-shirts and memberships to FSBA and OBBA. Now that's what it's all about!
Thank you so very much for everyone who attended. The food was spectacular, the company wonderful and the day not too hot!
Don't forget our July meeting: Thursday July 16, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Orange County Extension Center, Azalea Room. Jerry Hayes, Chief Apiary Inspector for the State of Florida Department of Ag., Consumer Services will give us a very interesting lecture. I don't know what it is about...but coming from Jerry it will be GREAT! Many of you know he writes a column for the "American Bee Journal" called "THE CLASSROOM". I always learn something new from that column.
I look forward to seeing you all there!
Thanks again for making last Saturday a great event!
